Meet Jean

About Jean

My family moved to Ilderton in December 2010 during Snowmageddon when my oldest daughter was two years old. We fell in love with Ilderton and we adore living in the village. It has been a wonderful place to bring up our children and we have made the best of friends and connections.

I have been part of the community since moving here. I loved taking my daughters to the Early Years Centre when I could and I joined the Optimist Club.  I was blessed to be in charge of the Easter Egg Hunt for a few years and I was a Girl Guide Leader for many years.  I have been a long-term community supporter of the Ilderton Jets and Ilderton Soccer through my business – Sport Clips Haircuts.  I believe that Youth need a physical outlet and sports help with a growth and team based approach.

I have been a part of the Oxbow Home and School for the last ten years and I am currently the Hot Lunch Leader and the Grade 8 Grad Chair for 2021-2022. For the last few years, I have been organizing the Young Entrepreneurs Table at our Ilderton Farmer’s Market – I am passionate about kids and entrepreneurship and I helped to organize our very first Christmas Market with the IABA in 2021.

I hold my MBA and am a business owner in London and a Professor at Fanshawe College. I am a previous Board Member at the Hyde Park Business Improvement Association, Board Member at the Community Futures Middlesex - The Business Help Centre, Board Member at the Ilderton and Area Business Association and sit on the board of the Thames Valley District School Board Parent Involvement Committee. I believe that there is more to be done and I am the one to help our community.

Last year, I was involved with the Middlesex Centre Official Plan Review and it sparked my interest in being involved with council. Now I want to be your Councillor to bring your voice to Middlesex Centre Council and guarantee the concerns of Ward 1’s citizens are heard loud and clear. I want to ensure that the decisions made in Council Chambers  - work for you and your family.
